Viessmann and East Surrey College unveil new technology training facility.
£10,000 worth of Viessmann equipment to provide local students and installers with hands on experience.
Viessmann and East Surrey College have partnered to develop a quality training facility for heating installers in the local area and to offer a broad range of products for the college’s students to use. The partnership saw the Viessmann training team work closely with East Surrey College Plumbing lecturer Darren Carr to design the centre.
The new facility has been equipped with £10 000 worth of Viessmann products including domestic boilers, and solar technologies and will allow installers to train more locally.
Viessmann training manager, Tony Lobley, who recently visited the centre said: “This facility is really outstanding – even better than I expected. The donation from Viessmann for this facility is an investment in the community. It is a commitment to long term training for our installers and the students of East Surrey College who will have the opportunity to use top quality industry products. We hope this experience will be invaluable to them and they will be able to take forward the knowledge they gain, when they start their careers in the heating industry.”
Commenting on the new facility, Darren Carr, East Surrey Plumbing lecturer, says: “This development is just another example of the strength of industry links that East Surrey College is continuing to build to ensure that our students have access to the best facilities.
“Plumbing continues to be an expanding area within the college which is a reflection on the exceptional quality of the training and the very high success rates for plumbers in the area.”
For local installers looking to take part in free training courses run at the college contact Viessmann’s training department on 01952 685032, email training administrator, Lisa Grice, on GrcL@Viessmann.com, or via their area business manager.
