Prosolvia and Schlumberger, Geco-Prakla announced today that they have signed a contract for the provision of a crew-training simulator for ships used in the oil and seismic survey sector. Delivery to take place before the end of 1998. The companies have also agreed on a frame contract. As part of its high-technological development, Geco-Prakla has awarded Prosolvia a multi-million contract for the development of an advanced training simulator. The purpose of the simulator is to provide realistic training for crews working with the new control system that Geco-Prakla is introducing. This new control system will entail dramatic changes in the way that crews work; it is therefore important to be able to accurately and effectively train crews prior to their placement in the new environment. "This collaboration opens the off-shore sector to simulation based training. The increased demand and competition in the offshore sector will be easier to meet with Prosolvia's solutions. We are very excited about working in this way with Geco-Prakla, and view the deal as strategically important to both our companies."
