Top food safety marks for successful Jazz Café club diner

A  warm welcome, great live music, a vibrant atmosphere and truly good food… that’s what Reading’s premier live music, restaurant and club venue, The Jazz café, delivers. And the results of their recent Environmental Health inspection support their dedication to excellence, returning top marks for food hygiene

The Jazz Café’s most recent food safety and structural inspection, by RBC Senior Environmental Health Office Robert Atowo, took place on 17th February. They passed with flying colours yet again, meeting and exceeding standards for maintaining proper paperwork records, optimum food temperatures, food delivery records, pest control, date coding on foodstuffs and the overall cleanliness of the club’s kitchen and bar areas.

Dave Simpson, the club’s Director and owner, was delighted with the five star award, saying he felt it justified the hard work and dedication of everyone concerned and commenting, “It has been a great team effort by all our staff, who should be really proud of this award. Apart from giving them something to shout about, I think it also gives our visitors confidence in our establishment, and reassures companies who want to book the venue that they’re going to be well looked after.”

The Jazz Café has been serving up the best in live music and eating out for almost eight years and they’ve maintained a four star rating for food safety policy since the beginning in 2005, when they opened at their current premises. They take pride in giving a great night out to over 25s with the cream of the UK live music, including such great names as Courtney Pine, Average White Band, Alexander O’Neil, The Commitments, The Real Thing, and Shakatak. In 2010 they extended our playlist in to include exceptional tributes to Queen, Robbie Williams, Michael Bublé, the Rolling Stones, Madness and Elvis, complemented by some of the best DJ’s around

Upcoming gigs include Madison Heights, Keynote Blue, The Mushrooms and The Originals, all guaranteed to get your feet tapping, accompanied by superb hospitality, good cuisine and a simple but discerning wine list.
