Pointsec Mobile Technologies signs agreement with Finnish telecom giant Sonera IT-security company Pointsec Mobile Technologies, a subsidiary of Protect Data, has signed an agreement with Sonera, the Finnish telecommunications company, for the delivery of PointsecTM, the IT security software program. Initially, Sonera plans to replace the security software program currently used on 1,000 of the company's portable computers with Pointsec. The agreement could encompass a total of between 4,000 and 6,000 licences. Sonera is now introducing Windows 2000 to its organisation. In connection with this, they will also start to work on replacing the security software program currently used on 1,000 of the company's portable computers with PointsecTM. Swedish-developed security software program Pointsec will initially be installed on the portable computers used at Sonera in Finland and, subsequently, on computers in their subsidiary companies, including operations in Sweden and Germany. Over the course of the coming year, the agreement could involve a total of between 4,000 and 6,000 licences.
