Protect Data sells 200,000 ActivCard tokens as part of security solution for Swedbank - Option for a further 100,000 units IT security company Protect Data has won an order for further delivery of security solutions for Swedbank. The order relates to 200,000 security tokens and includes an option for a further 100,000 units. "This is further proof of the fact that we are offering a highly attractive range of IT security solutions," says Carl Rosvall, CEO of Protect Data AB. ActivCard's tokens enable customers to authenticate themselves by simply typing a PIN on their token keypad to create a secure password for positive digital identity. Protect Data will initiate and prepare the tokens and will also handle their storage and distribution to local bank branches. Swedbank is buying 200,000 tokens. The bank also has the option of purchasing a further 100,000 tokens for delivery later on. The additional order confirms the strength of the collaboration between Protect Data, ActivCard and Swedbank, dating back to 1996, in ensuring the bank's customers can confidently conduct financial transactions online.
