Provider sells its shares in Tradera to eBay

Stockholm, April 24, 2006 – Provider funds together with remaining owners divests Tradera.com, Sweden’s largest market place for Internet based auctions. The buyer is eBay, paying SEK 365 million in cash plus acquisition costs, net of payments for working capital.

Venture Capital firm Provider funds is the single biggest owner, controlling 48,9 percent of Tradera’s share equity. ”Tradera has been a very good investment. Provider has been active as owner and financer since start, with the objective of making Tradera a market leader. Tradera.com was founded in 1999 and has more then one million members. Every day more than 750 000 items are up for sale on the electronic marketplace. “In eBay we have found the perfect owner who can develop this business further,” Anders Lindqvist concludes. The sale of Tradera is Provider funds’ third exit during the last six months. Previously, Provider funds have sold EssNet, a developer of technology for online gaming, and the work agency Academic Work.
