Swindon-born footballer Rhys Evans takes centre stage at the opening of a new upmarket adult boutique

Provocative Pleasures Boutique in Rodbourne Road offers high quality lingerie and a range of adult products celebrating the sexier side of life.  

Rhys Evans, who was born in Swindon and played for Chelsea, was the surprise guest at the opening of the first Provocative Pleasures Boutique on Thursday 16 May.

He spoke to guests who attended the evening to sample, try and buy the lingerie, swimwear and adventurous accessories in the shop at 210 Rodbourne Road. Provocative Pleasures has had a successful online business for several years but has now opened its first shop here in Swindon.

Rhys also introduced a range of new ‘Shisha Sticks’ to the guests. While they look like colourful smoking accessories they are designed to provide the finest and ultimate smoking experience without any harmful toxins.

Triona Sturges, manager of Provocative Pleasures said: “It was very rewarding to see so many women interested in the products, but also having a fun filled relaxing evening at the same time. It just proved that sex is fun and natural and that in a comfortable environment people are open to discussing it”.

The boutique stocks a varied range of products, from corsets to babydoll lingerie, fancy dress, swimwear and adult toys. They are one of the very few stockists of the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’- inspired party game and accessories.

Triona said: “With our first boutique now open, it’s set to be a place where anyone and everyone is welcome, and can feel totally comfortable delving into the inner desires. If you are looking for a gift for a friend, something a little more risqué for your partner, or perhaps something for yourself, there is something here for you.”

Guest Hayley Masi, said “I loved the store the moment I walked in; it was classy and beautifully decorated. The products were well organised and easy to browse; I walked away with several purchases. It was a brilliant evening, full of giggles and dressing up, in a really relaxed environment. I would highly recommend it to all my friends, as well as holding a girl’s night there!”

This launch event will the first of many open evenings and staff hope to soon host hen and stag parties as well as other fun events such as  birthday celebrations. The next open evening will take place on Thursday 30 May from 6.30pm.
