Empowering retail investors in Italy - Proxycensus rolls out the MyShares App
Proxycensus releases MyShares, the first ever dividend and Annual General Meeting (AGM) notification app specifically shaped for retail investors of publically listed companies in Italy
The APP delivers essential real-time dividend and AGM-related information directly to mobile devices. Users can select to receive information from all companies across any of the Italian stock indices. The first release has been rolled out for Apple Iphone and Ipad, with a version for Android to follow in the very near future, along with a deployment program across other markets with specialized industry player partners.
Miguel Carrasco (Managing Director at Proxycensus) explains, Up until now it’s been very difficult for retail investors to obtain AGM and dividend information. Poorly navigable corporate websites, and a general lack of interest to inform retail shareholders has meant that many shareholders are simply unaware that a meeting is taking place or what’s being “put to the vote”. Now, that’s about to change, not only can retail shareholders receive real time information about dividend payments & general meetings, but shareholders will also be able to subscribe to an agenda analysis performed by Frontis Governance (a local corporate governance advisory firm) This will enable retail investors to have a very high level of insight should they wish to exercise their voting rights. Frontis Governance will provide a analysis based on best practice governance guidelines developed to protect minority investors. The APP furnishes information to facilitate the investor in making an informed voting decision, allowing them to finally feel part of the company they have invested in.
The APP itself is a ground-breaking tool designed to create the maximum value for retail shareholders.
