“The Power of AV” Covers the AV Basics Pertinent to Event Planners
ST. LOUIS, Missouri, October 1, 2012 - - Swank Audio Visuals recently unveiled “The Power of AV” training course, specifically designed for meeting planners.
Certified Meeting Professionals (CMPs) can earn Continuing Education credits, benefiting their certification, by completing the program. In “The Power of AV,” the Swank Team discusses the audio visual aspects that are most pertinent to event planners, such as the advantages of external speakers compared to house sound; formatting presentation content for new, wider screens; three-point lighting for video capture; understanding Internet bandwidth requirements; the latest AV trends, such as video mapping and event apps; and more! In addition to technical education, the Swank team members share their experience in a segment tailored to help planners derive a higher degree of value from their events.
“Putting this seminar together was something we’d been working on for a while, and our goal was to provide something useful — as opposed to making a sales presentation to the meeting planners,” said Gerry Small, Swank Event Services General Manager. “We also wanted to get a diverse group involved and provide an environment for networking in addition to the educational benefits. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and we’re already making plans to expand this seminar based on the feedback we received.”
Laura Teasdale, CMP and Senior Meeting Planner for the American Optometric Association, was one such attendee who benefited from the course. “It was full of so much valuable information,” said Teasdale. “My experience is that most people, including myself, fall into meeting planning with no formal training. In my 12 years as a meeting planner, I have never come across an educational program that covered audio visual, until now, of course.
