CUSTOMERS CELEBRATE NEW LOOK BARROW SUPERMARKET
Hundreds of Barrow-in-Furness residents queued from 7am on Thursday 15th April to celebrate the opening of the new look Netto supermarket on Risedale Road in the town. The refurbished store, which has seen significant investment by Netto, was officially reopened by Netto’s Operations Director Paul Newby, store manager Gavin Boyd and the first customer Moira Doyle. The store, which originally opened in 1995, now has an improved layout with more floor space and wider aisles, meaning a massively improved shopping experience. The store interior is lighter and brighter and there is more space for one-off non-food weekly specials and extra chilled units for fresh produce and fruit & veg. The store now also has environmentally friendly energy saving heating and lighting systems plus greetings cards and wraps. “The response from shoppers has been wonderful. It’s thrilling to see so many people queuing to come to the re-opening,” said Gavin Boyd. “I’ve received nothing but positive comments from the people who love the store’s new look. It’s feelers larger, more modern and bright, and together with our famous special offers, it gives customers an excellent new shopping experience.” At the official opening the long queues of customers were entertained by Bubbles the Clown and DJ Dave. Many were also lucky enough to win shopping vouchers from Netto’s prize pod. Free tea, coffee, refreshments and treats were also available for customers to try from the Netto own label range. Customers were also treated to a huge range of special offers with many filling their trolleys or rushing to get their hands on the latest deals. Continued Gavin: “This new-look supermarket has got so much more to offer our loyal customers– big brands and own label products at the lowest prices, quality fresh produce, meat delivered daily, frozen foods, healthy choices, as well as a wide range of wines, beers and non-food items. “At Netto, we strive to offer each and every one of our customers fantastic savings and great value everyday. It’s been a real pleasure to see how our customers here in Barrow have responded to our refurbished store and we thank them for their continued custom and support.” Ends Issued on behalf of Netto by Public.
