On Monday 20th September, Strood Fire Service will hosting a Home Fire Safety awareness event in the car park of Netto supermarket in Strood. As part of the Fire Service’s ongoing initiatives to educate and inform the community on fire safety issues, they will be offering services such as home fire safety checks and free smoke alarm fitting. The fire service will also be fielding any questions the local community would like to ask about fire safety and prevention. The event will start at 9.30am and finish at 5pm. Steve Browne, Crew Manager for Strood Fire Service said: “We would like to invite all Strood residents from the local community to attend this event. Home Fire Safety is extremely important and attending this event will help identify any fire risks residents may have at home. We would also like to ask if people have fire alarms fitted in their homes and if not, one of our fire crew will be offering to fit the alarms free of charge via our home safety visit scheme.” Ends.
