UGO COMES TO STANLEY
New discount supermarket to offer low prices and value to local shoppers
The former Netto store on Scott Street in Stanley has been sold to the Haldane Retail Group and is set to be rebranded as a new discount store, UGO. The store continues to trade as usual but will close at 12 noon on Saturday 7th May for refurbishment and rebranding to UGO and re-open to shoppers on Monday 9th May at 8am. Building on the strengths of its predecessor, the new UGO store will offer enhanced product ranges with a focus on low prices and exceptional value for money. Shoppers can expect an extended range of branded food and drink goods, a new health and beauty range including fragrances and cosmetics at unbeatable prices, a wider range of news and magazines, additional space for beers, wines and spirits as well as deals on non-food items for the home and garden. Explains Sharon Hartley, UGO Stanley store manager: “I can’t wait to welcome all of our loyal shoppers and see some new faces when we open on 9th May. The entire team is very excited about this new chapter in the store’s history. “Here at the new UGO store, we’re focusing on giving shoppers amazing deals and promotions on the products they want. With more than 3,000 product lines, shoppers can easily complete their weekly shop and save money at the same time. We’re all about low prices because we know just how important it is for consumers to get quality products and value for money on their grocery shopping.” Concludes Richard Collins, chief operating officer for the Haldane Retail Group: “We’re delighted to have retained all of the former Netto employees in Stanley as well as the other 19 stores we have purchased and will be re-opening under the new UGO brand over the next few weeks. “I’m extremely proud of the team’s commitment and hard work to ensure a smooth handover with minimum disruption to customers. They’re now looking forward to opening the doors and introducing Stanley to the UK”s newest discount supermarket; UGO shoppers definitely won’t be disappointed with what’s in store!” Ends.
