Bratislava/Trondheim, January 25th, 2009 – SkyToll signed on Friday the 23rd of January a contract with Q-FREE ASA for the delivery of central system, enforcement system and a 3 year service agreement for GPS based truck tolling system in Slovak Republic with value of approximately 50 million Euros.

Truck tolling as such represents a large growth market for the company” comments CEO of Q-FREE Øyvind Isaksen.

The project for Slovakia’s electronic tolling system is unique by international standards as the state-of-the-art satellite tolling technology covers, in addition to highways and expressways, also large sections of first class routes. The SkyToll electronic tolling solution, based on the GPS–GSM technology provides maximum flexibility in order to accommodate future increases in the volume of freight transport and road-network extensions across Slovakia.

Q-Free’s part of the project will start immediately. The construction phase will last throughout 2009, followed by a service and maintenance activity for 3 years.

The joint-stock company of SkyToll was established by members of the Ibertax-SanToll consortium, the winner of a tender for implementation of a comprehensive tolling system in the Slovak Republic. SanToll s.r.o. is owned by Sanef, a French-based corporation that operates one of the longest toll-road networks in Europe (more than 1,700 km). Q-Free is a leading global supplier of solutions and products for Road User Charging and Traffic Surveillance having applications mainly within electronic toll collection for road financing, congestion charging, truck-tolling, law enforcement and parking/access control.
