More from the Company Monthly Newsletter September 2018
During the month of September, we participated at the BrainGain Sweden Innovation meeting in Gothenburg, the StrokeTeam Congress in Stockholm, negotiated with future distributors and participated in the 35-year anniversary of Ideon Science Park in Lund.
During two days, we participated in the 2ndBrainGain Sweden Innovation meeting in Gothenburg. The meeting focused on innovations in the field of the aging brain, in particular those related to stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson's disease. The aim of the meeting was to bring preclinical and clinical researchers, representatives from healthcare, the industry and various related partner organizations together to discuss innovations that address the challenges posed by brain disease and aging.
“Among children born today, half are expected to reach the age of 100 years, and thus are at risk of acquiring a disease of the aging brain such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD) or stroke, against which few or no effective treatments are available. Globally, the societal cost for these diseases has increased by approximately 35% over the last 5 years and will exceed one trillion USD by 2018.”

We participated and exhibited at the StrokeTeam Congress in Stockholm, which was arranged for the 13thtime. 860 representatives from a number of healthcare disciplines and departments, including researchers, participated and shared experiences and the latest within the field of stroke.
We presented our solution (which addresses sudden cardiac arrest patients) and answered questions from the 80-90 people or so, who visited our booth during the congress.
We ended the month by participating in the 35-year anniversary of Ideon Science Park, the first Science Park in Sweden, in Lund.
It was inspiring to meet other entrepreneurs and CEOs from companies that have completed similar journeys, as we have embarked upon. Since its inception, more than 1000 companies have started at Ideon. Many of them are well-known; Axis, Cellavision, QlikTech, Storytel and Jolife, just to mention a few. Today, there are about 400 active companies and 9000 employees at Ideon.
