The Lyrestad wind farm in the Municipality of Mariestad has granted an environmental permit. The wind farm encompasses up to eight turbines corresponding to a power of 24 MW and a total height of 200 meters. The eight turbines are part of a larger wind farm with a total of 22 turbines.

The application documents were submitted to the County Administrative Board in the County of Västra Götaland in November 2011. The Municipality of Mariestad subsequently approved the wind farm, which is a prerequisite for securing approval from the Country Administrative Board under the Swedish Environmental Code. The County Administrative Board in the County of Västra Götaland granted the environmental permit in May 2013, the permit has now gained legal force.
