Latest hotel underlines UK and Ireland expansion

Brussels, 07 July, 2004 … Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, the first-class full service brand of the leading hospitality company Rezidor SAS, is proud to announce the opening of its sixth property in Ireland, Radisson SAS Hotel Athlone.

The new Radisson SAS Hotel, Athlone, is a contemporary development in County Westmeath. The 124-room hotel is positioned on the marina overlooking the River Shannon and offers upscale accommodation, dining, meeting and leisure facilities. The train station and city centre are within easy walking distance.

Rooms are designed in the Ocean or Urban theme and features include broadband and wireless LAN internet access, televisions with satellite channels and in-room safes. Luxury suites are also available, all with excellent views over the Shannon.

Dining is in the all-day restaurant, Elements, which seats 140 people, and offers local dishes and international cuisine. The Quayside Bar and Lounge and Riverside Terrace overlook the town and the Shannon river.

For meetings and events, there are seven meeting and conference suites, all with the latest technology and high-speed internet connections. This includes the main ballroom which seats 500 for a dinner and 700 theatre style and has access to the riverside bar area.

Leisure time is not forgotten, with a swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms available, along with a fully-equipped gym.
