APPEAL ON RAISIO'S TAXATION TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE COURT

Raisio plc has been requested to submit a rejoinder to the appeal filed by the
representative of the Tax Office for Major Corporations concerning the company's
taxation for 2004 and the liability to taxation of the sales profit of
approximately EUR 220 million from the divestment of Raisio Chemicals on 2 June
2004. The question at hand is which of the two versions of the Act on the
Taxation of Business Income should be applied to the sales profit: the version in
force prior to the proposal for corporate and capital income tax reform, issued
on 19 May 2004, or the version valid after the proposed amendment took effect.
The Act according to which the sales profit is free of tax is applied to sales
and divestments carried out on or after 19 May 2004.

The sales profit has been considered free of tax in the company's regular
taxation for 2004, as well as in the resolution made by the Assessment Adjustment
Board in November 2006.

"The appeal lodged by the representative of the tax authority contains no such
matter that would justify a reassessment of the resolution made by the Assessment
Adjustment Board. Raisio's stand, supported by the expert statements obtained by
the company, remains the same: the sales profit is subject to the amended Act and
the resulting profit is free of tax. The company will submit a rejoinder to the
Administrative Court concerning the appeal on taxation," says Mikko Korttila,
Raisio's Executive Vice President, Legal Affairs.
