RAISIO GROUP CONTINUES TO RATIONALISE ITS OPERATIONS

Codetermination talks to be started at the Raisio margarine plant

In order to meet the needs of both domestic and international customers and
consumers in a tight competitive situation, Raisio has to continuously develop
its operations. During 2004 Raisio made major reorganisations i.e. in the
margarine business - the production in Sweden was discontinued and a new
margarine plant started production in Russia. To secure the competitiveness
Raisio needs to increase the efficiency of the margarine production further.

Raisio has today invited the employees of the Raisio margarine plant to the
codetermination talks. This invitation refers to the rationalisation of the
margarine production, which may lead to personnel reductions of some 20 people.
In order to further develop the operations, it has been decided that the
maintenance of the margarine plant will be outsourced to ABB Oy, Service. Raisio
margarine plant employs some 150 people, out of which less than 20 people in
maintenance.
