RAISIO GROUP TO PURCHASE THE ENTIRE SHARE CAPITAL OF CAMELINA LTD
Utilisation of Omega 3 fatty acids offers new opportunities for Raisio's product
development

Raisio Group plc, which previously had a 20% interest in Camelina Ltd., has now
acquired the company's remaining share capital at a purchase price of EUR 1.2
million. The sellers were Sitra, Innofinance Oy, MTK, Janakkalan Piensiemen and
Camelina's key personnel. The turnover of Camelina Ltd. is approximately EUR
200,000.

Camelina Ltd. has been engaged in the contract farming of the Camelina sativa oil
plant in Finland since 1999. The oil content of the Camelina plant's seed is more
than 40%, and as much as 40% of the fatty acids are of the Omega 3 type. Omega 3
fatty acids are essential for humans, and studies show that they have several
health-promoting effects. The most common source of Omega 3 fatty acids is fish,
but the plant-based Omega 3 extracted from Camelina offers new opportunities for
a number of product applications.

The objective of Raisio's R&D activities is to introduce new tasty and healthy
foods on the market. The beneficial characteristics of the Camelina oil can be
extensively utilised in developing such foods. Raisio has previously launched the
Beneviva margarine, which is a Camelina oil-based product that promotes
cardiovascular health.
