RAISIO NEGOTIATES ABOUT SELLING RISELLA-BRAND

Raisio negotiates with Ebro Puleva about selling the Risella rice-brand.
Ebro Puleva is the biggest Spanish food company and market leader in the
European rice business. Ebro Puleva is a long-term partner and rice raw
material supplier for Raisio. The aim is to conclude the negotiations in
the near future. After the deal, Raisio will still act as the distributor
of Risella-products.

The codetermination talks concerning the rice production, packaging and
storing in Raisio have been completed. Would this happen, reduction of 6
employees would take place by the end of this year. In this connection
possibilities for e.g. pension arrangements would be studied.
