RAISIO’S MARGARINE PRODUCTION STARTED IN RUSSIA
Growth potential for Raisio Nutrition improved

The margarine plant of Raisio Nutrition in Istra, about 60 km from
Moscow, has started the production. Transferring the production lines
from Sweden, successful trials and well-advanced regulatory processes
have enabled the production to start with a rapid time schedule.
Altogether there are about 60 people working at the Istra plant and
in the Russian sales organisation.

Raisio Nutrition has until now exported Voimix and Dolina Skandi
margarines to Russia. These brands have almost 10 per cent market
share in Moscow and in St. Petersburg. Starting the local production
strengthens the competitiveness of Raisio further.

In 2004 Raisio’s target is to improve the market position in Russia.
In the next few years the production volumes can be trebled by minor
investment expenses. Russia and Poland are the future key growth
areas of Raisio Nutrition.
