Raoul Wallenberg Academy cordially invites members of the press to the Raoul Wallenbergs Day ceremony on the 27th of August in Stockholm, Sweden. During the event the prize in memory of Raoul Wallenberg as well as the Young Courage Award will be given to the respective award winners.

The prize in memory of Raoul Wallenberg is given to an individual who through his or her work, with great civil courage, has been for the benefit of his/hers fellow men and the wider community. The award will be presented by former vice secretary general of the United Nations, Jan Eliasson. The award winner will be announced on the 27 of August.

The international Young Courage Award prize is given to youth between the ages of 13 and 20, who, in the spirit of Raoul Wallenberg, have shown great courage and often worked with small means, to the benefit of others. The Young Courage Award is an annual non-political recognition to celebrate young people who have shown remarkable evidence of moral courage. This year’s recipients have been selected by proposals from the public, schools and embassies in France, Hungary, Serbia, Spain, and Sweden. Information about the prize winners can be found on our website: www.rwa.se.
