Rapunzel of Sweden – Winner of the award “The Export Company of the Year 2013” in the town of Umeå, Northern Sweden
Recently it became known that Rapunzel of Sweden and its CEO Ida Backlund had been awarded the title “The Export Company of the Year 2013” and this year’s profile of the area, in the town of Umeå, northern Sweden.
Right now Ida Backlund is also representing Sweden and Scandinavia at the conference held by IWEC (International Women´s Entrepreneurial Challenge) in Lima, Peru.
During the gala, held in Umeå it became known that Rapunzel of Sweden had been awarded the title “The export company of the year 2013”. Rapunzel´s CEO also won prize as this year’s profile of the area.
- It´s a great honor for me to receive these awards and I am incredibly proud and moved by the tremendous momentum, determination and humility that my sister Ida, since the start has showed as she has driven Rapunzel forward. I also want to thank all of our fantastic employees. We all know the enormous amount of work that lies behind the success, says Elin Kämpeback, Rapunzel Store Concept Manager who received the award on stage in Umeå.
Approximately half of Rapunzel of Sweden´s sales are exports, currently to 36 different countries around the world and to over 185 000 customers.
- I am deeply honored and really happy about this award and would like to thank the organizers of this gala. I also wish to thank everybody, both customers, and partners and my staff. Now I will do my best to represent Umeå, Sweden and Scandinavia at IWEC, then I will enjoy a vacation to re-charge my batteries, a happy and keen Ida Backlund finalized before she travelled to Lima, Peru.

The company must be seated in the region of the town of Umeå and demonstrate a profitable outcome during the last two years and must have increased its share of the export markets and this share must be a substantial part of the turnover of the company.
