Rational SelfCookingCenter® whitefficiency® gains coveted Energy Star label

In the catering industry today, it is not only important to serve perfectly cooked food but also to save resources and use sustainable equipment. Rational’s latest SelfCookingCenter whitefficiency has become one of the first combi ovens to be awarded the Energy Star label for delivering high standards of energy efficiency.

Rational is committed to looking at the whole life-cycle of catering equipment and develop energy-efficient cooking technologies that minimise the consumption of resources.

The latest SelfCookingCenter whitefficiency cuts energy consumption by up to 20%, compared to previous models, and up to 70% compared to a traditional kitchen without a combi-steamer. The multifunctional unit can roast, poach, bake, toast, braise and even pan fry fish and cook chips - all at the touch of a button and with consistently perfect results, which means it can replace 40 to 50% of standard appliances, reducing the kitchen footprint by at least 30%.

Chefs can maximise output by loading up to 30% more food into the same size cooking cabinet and production times are reduced by up to 30%, compared to previous models. HiDensityControl and Efficient LevelControl technologies enable chefs to cook different menu items on each shelf, with the right mix of heat and humidity, even adjusting the cooking process depending on how often the door is opened.
