Stand 17U50. 14th-16th September. NEC, Birmingham.

Rational will be putting the new SelfCookingCenter 5 Senses through its paces on Stand 17U50 at GLEE 2014. Expert Rational chefs will demonstrate to visitors the versatility of the new SelfCookingCenter combi steamer, by cooking a range of items suitable for café menus. Also, visitors will get a chance to taste everything that is cooked to experience the superior cooking quality of the Rational.

The new SelfCookingCenter 5 Senses is the first intelligent commercial cooking appliance that actually interacts with chefs, getting to know the way they work so that together, the chef and their combi can always deliver the best possible cooking results. The SelfCookingCenter 5 Senses can cook everything from pastries and pizza to pan-fried fish – all at the touch of a button, and all with perfect results.

At the heart of the new combi is the interactive cooking control (iCookingControl) technology. This ensures food is prepared exactly the way the chef wants, by monitoring, controlling and adjusting temperature, time, air speed and the cooking climate – that is, the balance of dry heat and steam. The iCookingControl features a monitor that enables the chef to see exactly what is happening, at any time.

On the stand, the Rational chefs will show how the SelfCookingCenter 5 Senses’ iLevelControl feature enables chefs to cook mix loads. The iLevelControl feature not only shows kitchen staff which foods can be cooked at the same time, adjusting the time for each shelf according to the amount of food loaded and factors such as how long the door is opened during the cooking process, but also ensures each is prepared using the chef’s preferred specifications and cooking methods.

The new Rational SelfCookingCenter 5 Senses has been developed to make cooking as simple and reliable as possible, allowing garden centres to expand their menu options. Because it is multifunctional, a SelfCookingCenter saves space; in fact it can replace 40 to 50% of standard appliances, reducing the kitchen footprint by at least 30%, ideal for kitchens where space is at a premium.

At the end of the day, the SelfCookingCenter even cleans itself. The SelfCookingCenter 5 Senses features an upgraded automatic cleaning system, called Efficient CareControl. It uses reformulated cleaning tablets that last 50% longer than previous versions, reducing costs and minimising environmental impact.

The latest Rational SelfCookingCenter 5 Senses includes:

  • HiDensityControl uses patented dynamic air mixing technology, which precisely controls the speed of the unit’s fan to channel the heat and humidity to exactly where it is needed. This not only delivers outstanding cooking quality, but also allows chefs to maximise output, since they can load more food into the same size cooking cabinet. It also reduces energy consumption and cuts production time compared to previous models.

  • iLevelControl tells the user which different foods can be cooked together at the same time and intelligently controls the cooking time for each rack. It means that everything is cooked to perfection, every time.

  • iCookingControl regulates the cooking processes – even the most complex of cooking routines can be initiated at the touch of a button, thanks to the simple control system. However, numerous new cooking options allow chefs to adjust the cooking process according to their own recipes.   They always know exactly what’s going on, since they can see the status of the cooking process via the control panel. This means no more time-consuming routine tasks, such as monitoring food, and more time for essentials such as creativity.

  • Efficient CareControl further enhances efficiency by detecting the build up of cooking residues in the SelfCookingCenter and always suggesting the appropriate cleaning level. This saves up to 40% in terms of energy, water and chemicals.
