Rational invented combi-steaming in 1976. Now the company’s new SelfCookingCenter® is the world’s first commercial oven that takes over the whole cooking process, allowing the chef to get on with more important things, like creativity, presentation and quality control. The chef simply tells the oven what the food is – the SelfCookingCenter® does the rest. The oven will cook the food exactly how chef wants it, even with ‘low temperature’ cooking overnight. And it cooks up to 15% faster than conventional combi-steamers, saving time and money.

Market-leading combi steamer manufacturer Rational AG has begun the year with a new Board Chairman. Dr Peter Stadelmann wants to continue Rational’s success story and build on the company’s dominant position worldwide. His motto is: ‘concentrate on what's important.’ Dr Peter Stadelmann, former Chief Human Resources Officer of Rational AG, has been Chairman of the Board since 1 January 2014. One of his key objectives is to establish Rational technology in markets that still predominantly cook with traditional appliances – Rational estimates the market potential consists of 2.5 million
