Ratos: Atle Industri sells Ekman holding Atle Industri is selling its holding in trading company Ekman to the Ekman foundations and the Ekman family. The deal will result in an exit loss for Atle Industri of approximately SEK 10 million. Ekman, which markets, sells and distributes pulp and paper products throughout the world, reported sales of SEK 5,712m in 2005 and posted a loss before tax of SEK 6m after restructuring costs. The holding, which corresponds to approximately 38% of the votes and capital in Ekman, belongs to Atle Industri, a company owned jointly (50/50) by Ratos and 3i, which is tasked with developing its holdings and then finding new owners for them when the time is right. Atle Industri recognises approximately SEK 70m in revenues from the transaction. A smaller amount contributes an additional purchase price. For Ratos, the sale of the Ekman shareholding will result in an exit loss of approximately SEK 5m.
