RAUTE CORPORATION STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 30 March 2010 at 12:00 p.m.
RAUTE TO CONCENTRATE PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES TO NASTOLA
Raute continues adapting its operations to the prevailing market situation and
has decided to transfer the production activities of its Jyväskylä unit to
Nastola. Other operations related to panel handling technology, such as
planning, and local maintenance service remain in Jyväskylä. After the change,
Raute's Jyväskylä unit employs approximately 10 persons.
As a result of the negotiations in compliance with the Act on Co-operation,
initiated in February, the employees working in the production of Raute's
Jyväskylä unit have been offered an opportunity to move to work at the company's
plant in Nastola and also support for re-employment in the Jyväskylä region.
Raute's production activities in Jyväskylä have been suspended as from March
2009. The Jyväskylä production unit employed a total of 14 persons, some of whom
resigned during the negotiations in compliance with the Act on Co-operation.
Around EUR 0.3 million expenses are estimated to accrue in the first quarter of
2010 related to the measures to transfer the Jyväskylä production activities and
sale of the premises in Jyväskylä.
