Raute to outsource warehouse and internal logistics operations to ISS Palvelut Oy
Raute Corporation will outsource its warehouse and other internal logistics operations located at Nastola to ISS Palvelut Oy starting on April 1, 2012. Raute had already previously outsourced its real estate management and packaging operations to ISS.
The objective of the outsourcing is to improve the efficiency and flexibility of warehouse and internal logistics operations. ISS will be responsible for developing the warehouse operations and internal logistics as well as resourcing and service provision.
"In its in-house development activities, Raute will focus on selected manufacturing core processes, such as parts manufacture, assembly and testing,” says Petri Strengell, Group Vice President for Technology and Operations at Raute.
The outsourcing will be carried out as a transfer of an undertaking, in connection with which eight employees from warehouse and transport operations will transfer to ISS Palvelut Oy’s employment on their pre-existing terms and conditions.
Following the transfer, a total of 321 persons will be under Raute Corporation’s employ at Nastola.
