Local Children Win Choc-tastic Treat - Stretford Mall dishes out Easter competition prizes

Two eagle-eyed children were rewarded this week by the staff at Stretford Mall as they picked up their Easter competition prizes - two giant chocolate hampers! First prize went to four-year-old, Marcel Swaby, from Stretford while second place went to ten-year-old, Sophie Shaw, from Sale, Cheshire. They correctly identified the names of all the eight animals that were featured in the shopping centres animation house, over the Easter holidays. The lucky winners’ names were then drawn from a hat and the shopping centre contacted them to pass on the good news. The children received their prizes this week at a presentation ceremony at Stretford Mall. Staff members from the centre were on hand to congratulate the winners and present the giant hampers, stuffed full of chocolate treats, to the lucky pair. First prize winner, Marcel could barely contain his excitement. He said: “Thank you for my prize. I just have to decide who to share my eggs with.” Marcel wasn’t the only one impressed with the prize, Sophie was also thrilled by the enormous hamper. “Wow, look at all the eggs,” she gasped, when she came in to collect her prize. Stretford Mall representative, Shirley Tong added: “The Easter competition was a great success, there were at least 2,000 entries or more. The prizes consisted of Thorntons Easter Eggs and Easter Bunnies.” Stretford Mall has been a part of the local community since 1974 and offers something for all the family.
