Latest Business Telephone Products Emphasize Flexibility for Growing Companies, Backwards Compatibility with Existing RCA Systems

Las Vegas, Jan. 10, 2012 – As business communications evolve and expand beyond voice, RCA business telephones are changing to reflect the different ways that businesses are using phone systems to stay in touch. New products from RCA emphasize the flexibility of expanding analog telephone equipment or new Android-based offerings that take full advantage of Internet-based information.

Expanding Information with VoIP

Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services are becoming more commonplace in businesses throughout the U.S., and RCA is entering the VoIP market with products aimed at small to medium-sized firms.

“The new line of RCA VoIP products utilize standardized Session Initiation Protocol – or SIP – signaling, which is a common method of voice communication offered by a number of service providers. We’re introducing three new VoIP products this year, and our flagship is the IP150 – a desk telephone that features a 7-inch capacitive touch screen and is powered by Android. That gives us access to a suite of Android apps, but also seamless functionality with popular applications such as Salesforce.com. We’re also compliant with Microsoft Outlook, which makes it easy to import your contacts and go to work right away with an RCA VoIP handset. The RCA IP150 could also be tied with your home security system, so you could get updates on who is entering your home while at the office,” said Dwight Sakuma, President of Telefield, the licensee for RCA-brand business telephones.

The RCA VoIP business telephone lineup includes:

  • IP110, a full duplex speakerphone and two-line IP phone IP120, a full duplex speakerphone and three-line IP phone
  • IP150, featuring a 7-inch touch screen and a full duplex speakerphone

Analog Phones Offer Growth Opportunity, Backwards Compatibility

Even with the switch to digital communications by many offices, there are still growth opportunities for analog phones.

“Probably the best example of expansion in the analog category would be our new RCA 25260 corded telephone. While it functions like a desk telephone, it doesn’t require a separate wired phone line to operate. This is an ideal product for a small business that is expanding, because the 25260 actually operates as a cordless phone, taking its signal from another nearby desk phone,” Sakuma said. The RCA 25260 connects via DECT6.0 transmission to another two-line telephone in the office.

“With the 25260, all you’ll need to do is plug it into an electrical outlet in the new location, and you’ve just expanded your phone options in a small business. This highlights a trend that we’re moving to capitalize on: as small businesses grow larger, we’re allowing the customer to mix-and-match various phones to meet their needs. Our newest RCA phones are compatible with older RCA models. Such backwards compatibility is not always offered by other phone brands,” Sakuma explained.

Another new analog RCA business telephone model is the 25420 – a four-line cordless phone. With the 25420, businesses will be able to easily expand their operations and offer multiple lines from extension telephones.

The analog RCA telephone line includes:

  • RCA 25260, a two-line corded speakerphone;
  • RCA 25270, a two-line cordless phone with accessory handset and headset;
  • RCA 25825, a corded telephone system expandable to up to eight separately sold handsets with integrated auto attendant, voicemail, and music on hold feature;
  • RCA 25420, a four-line DECT6.0 cordless phone with a handset speakerphone;
  • RCA 25425, a four-line corded phone with auto attendant and answering system; and,
  • RCA 25252, a two-line cordless phone with digital answering system that is expandable with up to 10 separately sold handsets.
