SLEEK RCA MOBILE DIGITAL TELEVISION TO LEAD 2012 LINEUP OF ON-THE-GO ENTERTAINMENT AND INFORMATION RECEIVERS

Las Vegas, NV -- Jan. 6, 2012 – Mobile digital television takes a stylish new leap forward in 2012 when RCA introduces the new flat-panel receiver designed for enjoyment of both over-the-air Mobile DTV and Internet connectivity. The RCA MIT700 thin receiver is designed to view both clear-to-air and encrypted mobile broadcasts, such as Dyle™ Mobile TV.

As the technology industry converges on Las Vegas for the annual International CES, RCA is underscoring its commitment to consumer desires for on-the-go entertainment with the introduction of the RCA MIT700 and a complementary lineup of current portable TV receivers designed to receive standard digital and “in-the-clear” mobile broadcasts.

Later this year, RCA will take the wraps off the MIT700, a slender Android-based TV receiver designed to pick up both scrambled and in-the-clear transmissions from broadcast TV stations. Availability and suggested retail pricing will be announced when the product is available at retail.

“We’ve learned a lot about consumer preferences since launching our first digital TV products. Now that several of the biggest broadcasters are beginning transmissions, we believe this is going to be an important market. Research consistently shows that consumers who try mobile TV not only watch television with greater frequency, but they also enjoy catching up on the latest news, weather, sports, and traffic wherever their day takes them. Reaction to our first generation of Mobile DTV receivers has been very positive, and we look forward to more widespread and more advanced services made possible by the addition of scrambled signaling that will be easily decoded by the RCA MIT700,” said Chris Lee, Vice President of Marketing for Digital Stream, which is licensed to market and sell RCA entertainment products.

Current RCA Mobile DTV Products Offer “In the Clear” Mobility

The 2012 introduction of the flat-panel RCA MIT700 follows the ongoing availability of four models equipped to receive “in the clear” Mobile DTV transmissions not transmitted with conditional access signaling:

The RCA DMT335 is a portable unit with a 3.5” screen that is powered by four “AA” batteries and is ideal as both a portable TV and information resource in an emergency.

The RCA DMT336R, which also has a 3.5” screen, includes a built-in rechargeable battery and the capability of receiving both TV and FM radio stations. The DMT336R is now available in white or black.

The top of the line for the RCA Mobile DTV products is the RCA DMT270R, which features a 7-inch widescreen and built-in rechargeable battery.

For an automobile already equipped with a video system, the RCA Car Tuner/Receiver model DMT3BR adds Mobile DTV for passengers in a moving vehicle.

Small Receivers Ideal for Virtually Any Viewing Scenario

Other small-screen portable TV offerings from RCA on display during CES this week include a pair of TV/DVD “clamshell” style players that can receive standard digital TV signals.   The DPDM70R is a 7-inch screen model equipped to play both DVD content and over-the-air broadcast digital TV. The DPDM90R offers the same functionality with a larger, 9-inch screen.

Larger screen on-the-go models are also available from RCA, including the 19-inch LED LCD model DETK185R that offers HD quality in a portable design. And the 19-inch DECK185R offers the convenience of portability in an LED backlit TV with a built-in DVD player.
