TWO WEEKS LEFT - Give Your Local Organization the Perfect Holiday Gift: An IKEA® Kitchen Makeover Valued at $25,000
The Family Handyman and IKEA team up for the 2nd Annual Rescue Remodel Contest; visit www.RescueRemodel.com to nominate your local organization
NEW YORK, NY (November 29, 2012) – There are only two weeks left to enter The Family Handyman Rescue Remodel Contest, sponsored by IKEA, which celebrates its second year of giving back to worthy groups such as firehouses, boys & girls clubs and soup kitchens. From now until December 15, 2012, communities can nominate their local organization to win an IKEA kitchen makeover valued at $25,000.
Entries must explain in 500 words or less how the renovation will benefit both the community and the local organization, as well as describe what makes the group truly deserving of the makeover. Nominees must be active community organizations and part of a not for profit group.
From new cabinets and appliances, to cookware and food storage, winners will receive a fully customized kitchen featuring signature and smart designs from IKEA. In addition, the group will be featured across The Family Handyman’s print and digital networks.
A panel from The Family Handyman will select the five top community organizations from those nominated. The vote will then be open to the public from February 1 until March 30, 2013. A winner will be selected on April 12, 2013, and the completed kitchen will be unveiled in The Family Handyman’s September issue and on its website, as well as on www.RescueRemodel.com.
Last year’s winner, the Palos Fire Protection District’s Station #1 in Palos Park, Illinois, was a testament to the Rescue Remodel Contest’s significance and success. Their community rallied together to show their gratitude, ultimately winning the station a new kitchen, fully refurbished by IKEA to meet all the firefighter’s needs. Without the contest and community support, they never would have been able to afford these necessary and long overdue renovations. There is no purchase necessary to enter the Rescue Remodel Contest. Entry is open only to legal U.S. residents age 18 or older at time of entry. For official rules or to submit a nomination, visit www.RescueRemodel.com.
