Readly strengthens its position in Europe by launching in Italy
London, 29th May 2019 – Readly, the Swedish founded digital magazine subscription service, announces its entry into Italy as the latest market to offer the app. Readly launches in Italy as part of its global expansion with top Italian publishers providing over 70 titles.
Some of the most established Italian publishers such as Mondadori, Hearst Italia and Sprea Editori are partnering with Readly to include their titles on the platform. This means that Readly can add over 70 well-known Italian magazines to the broad catalogue of titles offered across its markets.
Readly grows at a rapid pace with Italy being the company's ninth focus market together with the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and the United States.
Maria Hedengren, CEO of Readly comments:
"Italy is the seventh largest market in the world when it comes to magazine circulation, 69% of Italians access the web exclusively from mobile[1], and over the last year online reading of newspapers, information and magazines has grown[2]. We believe that a combination of these elements will be fertile ground for Readly's entry into a country that is also characterized by great passions, from sports, cars, and fashion to cooking".
For Italian users the monthly subscription is comparable to that of the UK at just 9.99 euros or 0.99 euros as a special introductory offer for the first two months.
In March 2019 Readly was ranked in the top 200 overall and the second fastest growing company in Sweden in the ‘Financial Times 1000 Fastest Growing Companies in Europe’, which measured growth between 2014-2017. 2018 saw over 55% revenue growth, launches in Switzerland and the Netherlands and further strengthening of the content portfolio, which now includes over 4000 titles.
Publishers are at the core of Readly’s business model. Readly is committed to the digital transformation with a platform designed to integrate and strengthen publishers' own digital channels.
