Publishing house Egmont Richter buys software from ReadSoft Egmont Richter AB, part of the worldwide mediagroup Egmont, has signed a deal to install Eyes & Hands FORMS. ReadSoft's software will read and interpret information on forms, which will speed up the order handling at Egmont Richter. The deal is initially worth 100,000 USD. A substantial part of the orders for Egmont Richter's books and magazines are currently received on paper coupons, filled out by hand. So far, the handling has been outsourced to a service bureau, but from now on the processing will be done internally with ReadSoft's system. The system will read, interpret and verify the written information and send it to Egmont Richter's delivery department for shipment. "The Egmont group, in which Egmont Richter is a part, consists of 110 companies in 27 countries. The entire group handles a huge amount of order forms and we see great possibilities to automate more of their data capture needs," comments Jan Andersson, MD of ReadSoft. Egmont Richter AB is a well-established and successful publishing company. It was founded in 1941 and is today focused on childrens' books, literature and fact books.
