Spain turns to ReadSoft for examination of driving tests The Swedish software company ReadSoft has this week closed a deal with the Spanish traffic department, Dirección General de Tráfico, to deliver the software Eyes & Hands FORMS. After one year of evaluation DGT decided to go all the way to automate the handling of theoretical driver tests. The deal is worth USD 340.000 and confirms ReadSoft's expanding position in Spain. ReadSoft has together with its partner Fujitsu closed a deal with the Spanish Traffic Department to capture and interpret information from drivers' tests at over 80 installations all over Spain. The software Eyes & Hands FORMS will facilitate the test correction. After the student has taken the test, the forms will be scanned and the information will be processed. Some 25 000 documents will be processed daily. Dirección General de Tráfico will also use FORMS to capture and process other statistics within the department, for instance results from alcohol tests and traffic accident surveys. There might also be a possibility to extend the installation even more, since there are more documents inside the department that need to be processed. - This order from the Spanish traffic department tells us that we are strengthening our role in the Spanish market. Before this order we already collaborated with the Spanish ministries of Interior, Justice and Defense.
