The Philippines use ReadSoft for census
The Philippines use ReadSoft for census ReadSoft has, through distributor DICOM, signed an order to deliver software for automatic data capture to the Statistical Bureau (NSO) in the Philippines. The software will facilitate the country's census of population, which means that over 70 million people will be registered. In total, over fifteen million forms will be captured and interpreted in six months. The software Eyes & Hands FORMS will scan in the 15,3 million double-sided forms at four different locations in the Philippines. After the documents have been captured and interpreted, every place will produce a CD, which will be sent to the main office's central database, for further processing and analysis. Many countries are discovering the enormous advantage of not having to register these amounts of paper manually. Automatic data capture signifies a great reduction in costs, administration and archiving." The market is estimated as very large and the rationalization needs far- reaching.
