The Spanish Traffic Authority, Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT), has chosen ReadSoft DOCUMENTS for Forms to automatically read and process application forms for the new Spanish driving license.

Starting in March 2005, all new Spanish driving licenses, as well as renewals, will be issued in credit card size. To request the new license, a form has to be filled out with information such as the Identity Card number, name, signature and picture of the applicant. To process the almost 17,000 forms that the local offices of DGT receives daily, DGT is using ReadSoft’s technology to automatically read all the data from the forms. ReadSoft DOCUMENTS for Forms interprets all the information on the forms. It reads and captures the printed and handwritten data, cuts out the signature and the color picture and, thanks to new functionality in the software, when necessary it enhances the photographs automatically. All data is sent electronically to the Spanish Mint, Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre, who is responsible for creating and issuing the new driving licenses. What is ReadSoft DOCUMENTS for Forms? The forms processing software offers organizations substantial savings, increased productivity and improved data quality. The software reads handwritten text, machine-print, barcodes, check boxes, circles, tables, matrixes etc. Among other benefits, automatic forms processing is much faster than manual keying of information, offering a quick return on investment. ------------------------------------------------ For more information, please contact --------------------------------------- ReadSoft AB Jan Andersson, President/CEO Pho: +46-(0)708 - 37 66 00 Olof Engvall, Vice President, PR & Communication Pho: +46-(0)708 - 37 66 70 E-mail: olof.engvall@readsoft.com
