App launched for iPod control of Hunter wheel aligner

Users of Hunter WA wheel alignment systems, with WinAlign11, can now view live vehicle measurements and take full wireless control of their aligner via their iPhone, iPad or iTouch devices. This fingertip control has been made possible with the launch of ‘TouchRemote’, a free app which can be downloaded from the iTunes store. “TouchRemote is another fantastic innovation from Hunter which is designed to provide workshops with even greater levels of flexibility and efficient ways of working,” explains Paul Beaurain, managing director of Pro-Align, the sole UK distributor of Hunter alignment equipment. “As the demand for four wheel alignment continues to grow, new functionality such as TouchRemote, ensures that workshops equipped with Hunter equipment can maximise their return on investment and productivity. Equally, it can serve as a direct promotional tool between workshops and customers which displays a high level of work transparency, giving consumers greater satisfaction in the service provided.” As well as being able to view the live alignment readings on the vehicle, users can control the WinAlign software and even view vehicle-specific adjustment illustrations and images. To use TouchRemote, workshop’s alignment consoles need to be equipped with version 11.1 of the WinAlign operating software and access key. In addition, WinAlign 11 contains many other features designed to simplify and speed up the time taken to perform wheel alignment checks. ExpressAlign streamlines alignment procedures with the minimum steps required; WinToe ensures a straight steering wheel every time; Webspecs provides the latest online vehicle data, tools and kits database; and users can view 3D real time graphics of the vehicle set up. Users can also take advantage of CodeLink, which allows recalibration of the steering angle sensor, as required by vehicle manufacturers, to match the final thrust angle of the vehicle. This important procedure ensures the vehicle’s electronic stability control (ESC) system continues to function properly and the car is safe.
