Don’t take ‘potluck’ with potholes
As local authorities set about repairing the UK’s pothole damaged roads with an extra £100m of government investment, motorists are being urged not to take ‘potluck’ with their wheel alignment. Driving over potholes is a major cause of wheel misalignment, which can reduce vehicle safety as the car can become difficult to control. It can also lead to higher fuel costs and increased tyre wear. Figures from the AA for 2010 put the cost to insurers for pothole related claims at £10.5m and many experts and organisations are predicting the UK’s pothole problem to be worse than ever in 2011
