Redsense Medical AB optimizes to increase production capacity in view of higher-than-projected orders

Redsense Medical announces that the Company is reviewing and optimizing its supply chain in order to increase production capacity and ensure efficient and speedy deliveries ahead. These efforts are in response to a significant increase of the Company’s order backlog in the last quarters, due to rising demand from the market.

”The backlog has grown during Q3 and Q4; the customer demand for products has risen faster than our internal projections, and we are thus close to reaching the ceiling of our current production capacity,” says Patrik Byhmer, CEO of Redsense Medical AB.

The Company recognized that demand was growing by early Q3, and responded by reviewing and developing the supply chain. Among other measures, the sensor production process was streamlined, resulting in a doubling of capacity. Other optimizations now in place will allow Redsense to further increase production capacity quickly, to cover peak demand.

”The key to this successful improvement was to ensure the availability of materials with long lead times, and to develop a production process that we can scale up easily when we need to,” explains Patrik Byhmer.

For the alarm unit, the maximum production capacity will be reached in 2019, and some orders will therefore be delivered in the next business year. The Company has identified critical components with longer delivery times for these products as well, and has adapted the purchase pattern to ensure the production of the new volumes. This production process has also been scrutinized, and measures have been taken to improve efficiency and improve response time so that rising customer demand can be accommodated quickly moving forward.

“The optimization of our supply chain will be an ongoing effort during the course of 2020; we will continue to improve flexibility, thus ensuring the future deliveries of Redsense’s products to our customers,” says Patrik Byhmer, CEO of Redsense Medical AB.
