Stockholm, Sweden, July 4th, 2011 – ReformTech Sweden AB today received a grant of 4.8 million SEK grant from FFI to develop environmentally friendly catalytic heaters that provides significantly lower amounts of nitrogen oxides, particulates and carbon monoxide while increasing efficiency and emissions of carbon dioxide.

The grant is for a joint R&D-project to develop an environmental friendly catalytic heater for compartment heating, engine pre-heating and battery pre-heating in trucks and passenger cars. The project is conducted in close cooperation with Scania, Volvo Car Corporation, Saab Automobile and the Royal Institute of Technology.

- It is very gratifying to get the grant from FFI and the close cooperation with Scania, Volvo Car Corporation, Saab Automobile and the Royal Institute of Technology. The grant will help us to further expand and customize our technology platform together with some key Customers. It will also enable us to recruit more personnel and to increase the rate of our expansion. The worldwide market interest for our technology and products is rapidly increasing and the grant help us to actively participate in the on-going industry shift towards more environmental friendly energy- and propulsion systems, says Daniel Hagström, CEO ReformTech.

The heater’s catalytic combustion yields significantly lower emissions (nitrogen oxides, particulates and carbon monoxide) while increasing efficiency and emissions of carbon dioxide, and is compatible with CO2-neutral fuels (bio-diesel, ethanol, methanol etc.). The project will develop and test a heater to fulfill customer demands for the vehicle market, and establishes strategically important cooperation to customers, production partners & aftermarket partners.

- The strong cooperation partners in this project secure that the results quickly are transformed into growth & increased revenue for ReformTech and the project takes ReformTech closer to its goal of becoming a new leading Swedish industrial firm in the cleantech sector. ReformTech is a company with ground breaking products and a world leading team, and this grant will enable us to realize our goals, says Daniel Hagström, CEO ReformTech.
