Rehm Thermal Systems and pb tec Partner on Conformal Coating Line Solutions
Rehm and pb tec have combined their specialist technology expertise to sell and install complete lines for conformal coating applications. The lines feature pb tec’s Eunil film coating equipment and Rehm’s powerful, energy efficient RDS series IR dryers.
The selective coating system by pb tec features a paint film process that enables contactless application of the protective coating without additional masking or de-masking work. It utilizes low pressure without spray, enabling highly precise deposition while also removing the need to clean surfaces. The film coating process eliminates overspray and can process at speeds up to 1000 mm/sec.
RDS Series Dryers from Rehm Thermal Systems are ideal to cure all common coating materials used for the protection of printed circuit board assemblies and completed products. RDS heating chambers are equipped with powerful IR radiators, and to protect against contamination and to facilitate cleaning, all IR radiators are provided with glass covers on the bottom heating section. This reduces maintenance frequency, and also significantly extends the life of the lamps.
In addition, the drying process is supported by central convection heating. The flow rate can be preset for this zone. The excellent thermal insulation of the heating zones and the individually adjustable temperatures make it possible to tailor the drying process according to particular material specifications.
Low COO has been a hallmark of Rehm, whose holistic approach to energy efficiency has resulted in new benchmarks for reduced power consumption and ambient atmosphere influence. The RDS Drying system consumes a meager 7KWh.
