Layoffs for Rejlers in Sweden

In conjunction with the presentation of the Year-end report, CEO Peter Rejler informed about measures in restoring profitability to Rejlers Sweden. Swedish management has prepared a plan of action calling for layoffs of 125 employees. All were notified this morning.

Rejlers Sweden has seen decreased demand in certain industrial sectors for quite some time. The nuclear power sector’s sudden slowdown, saving program in the mining industry and the substantial pressure to lower prices in the manufacturing sector have also had an effect in determining appropriate corrective actions. With the action plan, the company aims to improve profitability. The layoffs primarily concern staff at the Technology business area.

“We have for some time had profitability problems in parts of the business area Technology. This is a necessary measure, even if it is unfortunate that we have to lay off coworkers,” says Jonas Thimber, CEO for Rejlers Sweden. Negotiations with the union organizations begins within a week.
