Rejlers has signed an agreement with Norwegian energy distribution company Lyse Elnett on the delivery of services aimed at increasing safety around the use of electricity through more efficient digitalization. The agreement means that Rejlers will carry out an annual supervision of approximately 3,500 residential and business premises.

Rejlers is one of the biggest suppliers of local electrical inspections in Norway, so called DLE-services (Det Lokale Eltilsyn). The agreement with Lyse Elnett aims mainly to reduce the number of fires caused by electrical faults and provide guidance in the safe use of electrical appliances. Norway is one of the world's biggest consumers of electrical power and as a result, there are hundreds, perhaps even as much as a thousand, fires in Norway caused by faults in electrical systems every year. The activities included in DLE are very important in reducing the number of fires.

- We are very pleased to have chosen Rejlers as a provider of local electrical inspection services and look forward to further improving our risk-based inspections, says Joar Bø, Head of Local Electrical Inspections at Lyse Elnett.

Rejler's expertise in digitalisation is an important basis for improving safety and streamlining work processes. Discoveries and supervisory reports can be communicated more quickly and addressed immediately, reducing the number of accidents. Even so-called smart meters provide new opportunities.

- With data from smart meters, in the future we will have completely new opportunities to map and monitor objects where there is an increased risk. For example, it can be about soil defects, abnormal voltage variations or abnormal patterns in the consumption profile, says Thomas Pettersen, CEO of Rejlers Norge.

Rejler's agreement with Lyse Elnett includes responsibility for the delivery of DLE services within the company's network area with approximately 150,000 end customers and approximately 3,500 annual supervisory sessions, out of a total of 6,500 carried out annually. The agreement is valid from 1/1 2020 and runs over two years with the possibility of an extension for a further 4 years. The contract is worth about 7 MNOK per year.
