Rejlers' digital tools speed up Fortum's operation and maintenance
Rejlers piloted a whole new way of using augmented reality (AR) tools for locating Internet of Things (IoT) sensors in Fortum’s Oulunjoki hydroelectric plant’s operation and maintenance.
Implemented in 2017, Rejlers’ Accelerated Operations solution combines the plant’s digital twin, a digital replication of the plant, with sensor information and augmented reality (AR). The solution, operated on a mobile application or a desktop version, displays the facility’s Points of Interest, which provide realtime sensor information about the machinery’s status and operation. This saves the employee’s time on the field and minimizes unproductive work.
”The cooperation with Rejlers was smooth, and the project’s outcome managed to surprise us positively”, says Otso Manninen, the VARPU project manager for Fortum.
”As a forerunner in the energy industry, Fortum was a perfect partner to implement our digital solutions with. The successful end results indicate that Rejlers is on the right path taking it's clients to the digital future.” Antti Lilleberg, Business Unit Director, New Services and Product Development.
