Welcome to Di Energy Day in Almedalen on 4 July – The energy industry’s new arena. Dagens industri is bringing together decision-makers, major stakeholders and the challenges being faced by the energy industry in one place at Kronstallgränd 4 in Visby. At 10am, Rejlers will present: The energy sector in change – blockchain, augmented reality and digital security.

Until Technological advances are also opening up fantastic opportunities for the energy industry’s stakeholders, but what risks are emerging in the altered landscape and how can the key players prepare to manage these risks? How are vulnerabilities being balanced against the potential for new business models and added customer benefits?

This and much more will be discussed during the panel debate, which will commence at 10am in Dagen industri’s arena. The panel will include Jenny Edfast, Business Director Energy from Rejlers and Thomas Pettersen, CEO of Rejlers Norway. Other panel members include Ulla Sandborgh, Director-General of Svenska Kraftnät, Karin Ifwer, VP Strategy & Market Intelligence at Vattenfall and Marcus Murray, cyber security expert at Truesec.

Claes Böös, energy expert and group manager at Rejlers, will also present Rejlers’ latest digital energy solutions and explain how Rejlers is using augmented reality and *digital twins to develop the national electricity grid and associated systems.

“With a digital twin for switchgear or grid in place, it will be possible to extract information from the system which would otherwise require travel or safety measures. “Everything is now in place to assess the benefits that digital twins can offer in the energy system. I see major benefits as regards both finance and the environment,” says Claes Böös.

“Blockchain will offer fantastic opportunities for businesses, society in general and electricity consumers in particular. The stakeholders in the energy market need to be open to these opportunities now and facilitate new business models by reviewing laws and regulations which could inhibit development. The challenges associated with IT security must be taken seriously and secure solutions must be created”, says Jenny Edfast.

*A digital twin is an exact replica of a particular machine in the form of software. The physical machine supplies its digital twin with information concerning its status. Inspections and troubleshooting can then be carried out on the digital twin in many cases. This way, the physical machine does not have to be stopped except when absolutely necessary.
