Rejlers wins contract for the Helsinki Metropolia University
Rejlers will deliver electric power, lighting, telecommunication, security and audio visual engineering for Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and their largest campus, Myllypuro, including 6000 students.
This is the largest building project ever of Helsinki Real Estate Department’s Premises Centre. The project will be completed in August 2019. The building complex will have five to six floors and two basement floors for maintenance and parking. One aim of the project is to create a landmark building, partly on top of the metro line.
At this hybrid campus learning environments are linked to students' housing, business areas and cityscape. The assignment is based on efficiency, flexibility and high utilization of space. The total project covers an area of about 56 000 brm². There will be about 6 000 students and more than 500 staff on campus.
Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences is an international and multidisciplinary higher education organizer in the Helsinki region and has 20 locations in the metropolitan area. According to Metropolia’s strategy, operations will be concentrated to four campuses in the coming years.
