The report ‘Taxi Technology Europe’ is the comprehensive guide to specialist solutions, equipment and technology inEurope's taxicab sector.

In Europe, €620 Million is spent every year on the purchase of specialised technology for a fleet of over 800,000 taxicabs. Specialised equipment and technical solutions include taximeters; radios and mobile data terminals; back office systems that support dispatch, customer relationship management and fleet logistics; and other equipment such as passenger information screens and card payment systems. Some equipment such as roof-signs can be low in cost and technical complexity, while installations of on-board computers can cost several thousand euros per vehicle. In many jurisdictions, taxi regulators have mandated the use of less familiar devices such as fiscal cash registers and time-keeping equipment.

According to the 332 page report, the European market for taxicab equipment is growing at 4% and is predicted to reach €743M in 2015. The market is highly complex, primarily due to the diversity in the regulation of small public service vehicles from one European country to another. Despite the value of the market, little has been published that quantifies the level of expenditure on different types of equipment, or on the wide variation in the market conditions between different regions.
