UK windows and doors market to grow 9.6% to 2016 says new report

The report ‘Windows & Doors:UKMarket Report 2012’ examines theUKmarket for windows and doors. The market, as analysed in this report, covers the four main materials used within the industry: unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U); wood; aluminium; and steel. In 2011, the market was estimated to have grown by 2% reaching a market value of £5.29bn, with PVC-U representing the most significant sector.

This 116 page report forecasts that the windows and doors market will continue grow, following on from growth in 2010 and 2011, but at a more subdued rate, owing to uncertainty in the construction industry. In the longer-term more significant growth is forecast, driven by continued growth in private sector construction output and recovery in public sector spending. By 2016, the windows and doors market is estimated to have a value of £5.9bn, increasing by 9.6% between 2012 and 2016.
